Presidents team at the Quarterfinals
The Presidents team were victorious today at the Quarterfinals at Fingle Glen, beating Ilfracombe in a very close match by 4/3. This means that they go to the Semi Finals at Staddon Heights on Sept 8th. The team were magnificent with Heather Spencer, Gill Hicks , Liz Sharman and Barbara Smith all winning their matches. Barbara, the anchor man, had to play a 19th hole. She created the most marvellous chip over a bunker stopping very close to the pin, to secure her win. The team was supported by fantastic caddies and followers who braved rain wind and sun.
Wendy Stewart and Victoria Gibbens the team captains would like to thank everyone for the contributions they have made (in lots of different ways) to the success of our Presidents team and they hope this success will continue against Dainton at the Semifinals.
